Suncoasters Chapter Meeting

Friday 11th

We had arranged to visit the Suncoasters Chapter gathering at Widgee. We got away at ten, stopped for gas at Lawnton, stopped to dump the waste water at Wyllie Park. We were astonished and delighted to meet up with long time friends, Lance (the banjo player) and Glad, who were in the park for a couple of nights on the way back to Brisbane from a stint of house sitting in Buderim.

We stopped at Six Mile Creek in Gympie for lunch and reached Widgee at about three o'clock. We were warmly welcomed, met up with friends from an earlier time, and joined in happy hour which was cut short by some rain. In the evening we all went to the club for dinner. The food was nice and the conversation was entertaining.

Saturday 12th

I had once again left the fridge on electric when we parked and taken a fair whack of charge out of the house batteries. Checking the diary this morning I found a reference to doing this in Barn Hill in August 2002 with a note that I needed to devise an alarm to stop this happening again. I recently wrote a similar note but still nothing has been done about it. The day was overcast so I needed to run the generator which was a bit of a problem as we are all parked cheek by jowl. Everyone had the same problem so it was OK and we got the batteries charged.

Happy hour was a bit chilly but the conversation was, as usual, about the lack of sense in most of the regulations put in place by the CMCA.

We went to the club again for dinner so that we wouldn't have to cook.
